Here's Why Mulching Peppers Is Important ( 7 Great Mulches To Use) - Pepper Geek
Hellfire is one of my favourite sauce companies, up there with Torchbearer. Hellfire Kranked black garlic sauce is unreal, as is the Torchbearer garlic reaper sauce.
Should have viewed this before making the mistake of planting my peppers in 85 degree sunshine.
Watched this last year after I had already got some jalapenos started. Decided back then to try Goliath this year based on your well done, informative and fun video. Will let you know how it went after this Fall. Thanks, keep up your good work. Den Bob - Canal Fulton Ohio
Healthy soil will greatly reduce insect damage. Feed you soil, not your plants. I also use insect frass by top dressing or making a tea. Chitin found in the frass repels insects.
Yeah I don’t buy seeds from Baker Creek. Not a fan of people who support racists.
I used to take a clear plastic squeeze bottle of mustard, chop up a small slim Jim as small as possible. Mix or shake it well. Leave it on the counter with the lid loose for a few days until bubbling well. Made a nice BBQ type sauce. I will have to try it with the peppers.
Can pollean from flowers can be stored longer time or they have kind of due date? To cross breed peppers which are not flowering at the same time. 🤔
The hotter the pepper, the more healthy it is due to capsaicin level. I like to eat hottest peppers , though its torture. Currently i grow trinidad scorpion moruga and habanero
Here temp goes up to 43-45c so i want some heat tolerance pepper variety. As well as sppicy one😋
The tomato/pepper cages are the best. I joined a community garden last year and used them on my plot for my peppers (as I have always done.) I'm sure others wondered why initially, but I visited the garden today and noticed other gardeners are using them this year, I can only assume they saw mine and realized what a game changer they can be.
looks like goblin load
That’s false, I had a small Mexican pepper and an Anaheim pepper next to each other on the went into dormancy in the winter and next spring they starting growing again and the anahem peppers turned into a small dwarf pepper with a kick to it.
Egg shells are wonderful.
Made the mistake of using Miracle Gro for a house plant, the soil is not sterilized, it was contaminated with fungi spores and developed mushrooms after a few weeks the soil began to smell musky and I had to repot the plant using a different brand of soil.
I have a plant that smells musky and o couldn’t figure out for the life of me what was going on. Mushrooms galore.
step 1: pee into jar step 2: dilute 10 - 1 step 3: ?????
what about urine as a fertiliZer?
My biggest pest problem is the landscaping people that get hired
I'd like to see your video, but YT is continuously playing commercials.......SAD
I used to start my seeds in grow pucks. Then i discovered that starting them in a small paper bathroom cup works great. Then I up pot them into red solo cups and then they go out into my raised beds. So far so good. Everything is growing nicely.
Down to earth bio live
I like to use the 36 cell 4" deep trays for starting peppers. You can get more seedlings in a smaller area and they get a nice deep root ball for when transplanting. I then transfer to 4"x4"X5" square nursery pots and from there either a, 1/2 gallon, 1 gallon or 3 gallon depending on how fast that particular seedling is growing.. We are growing 50+ varieties of peppers and the round pots waste too much space when you have a couple hundred seedlings started. Also don't waste your money on fancy potting soil. The peepers that are doing the best were planted in DG with around 25-30% peat moss mixed in to lower the PH. We then put compost on top of the soil and water it in. No discolored wrinkled leaves from over saturated muckey wood chips causing root rot. The pots weigh a ton but is by far the best growing media I have used so far.
THANK U THANK U THANK U...... U have a new subscriber.
I was recently making hummus with a Scorpion Viper cross and wiped my eyes. I don't drink milk so I was looking for an alternative with one eye on fire. Nada, so went back to the fridge and voila, staring back at me was some Greek yoghurt. This isn't my first rodeo with pepper burns and have to say yoghurt is the best. It is like a salve and when the burn creeps back you just give the yoghurt a little rub and it goes away.
Loved this video thanks
Still debating whether to pluck the flowers on my habanero
I see your Spicy box from Hot Ones! Love them! I have a small pantry full!! I hope Sean appreciates both of you. ❤
Great tips! I always pick off the flowers and little fruits when I first plant out so they can get established. I feel like it really helps get them strong!
Hi guys on cross breeding pepper/chillies can you cross a pepper with a chillie or a tomato? Or are they to differeny genecticaly?
I use Dr. Earths, Alaskan Fish, Worm castings, my own homemade compost, and my own homemade aloe vera water fertilizer.
Our foxfarm is over 39$
Thought you had a broken arm for a sec 😅
Another great video and perfect timing 👍🏻
I'm from a family of chili farmers from the South of India 😊 I'm now farmless in Seattle, learning your ways to grow "peppers" 😉 Both places have their own unique set of challenges, both are fun in their own different way ❤ thank you for sharing all your priceless knowledge and presenting it so well 🙏
I planted two different pepper seeds and I didn't mark them. Now I have no clue which one is which XD And I need to choose the pot to replant.
I have 6 over-wintered superhots in the ground. Have been since April 20th. They are growing very thick but not stretching out like id like to see. Any suggestions on how to get them to stretch a bit for easier harvest and checking for pests?
I just transplanted my pepper plants to larger containers that has Fox Farms potting soil. So how often would I fertilize them? Since the new soil has fertilizer want to know timings after a transplant.
Great idea! A food processor does not really get rid of the seeds!
I'm pretty excited for the pasilla bajio chili, chocolate bhutlah CS, Scotch brains, sugar Rush peach, aji panca... These have been my favorite. Best tasting peppers
What was the N-P-K ratio? Were they complex or just NPK?
I have the Miracle Grow Plant Food in liquid form. From the chart it shows the best production other than weight so i'm sitting good. I'm new to all of this and I always see people using crazy fertilizers and wild names and it gets overwhelming. I found a couple bottles of miracle grow at my moms and went with those. Glad I found this video to see what I'm working with. I've been finding your videos helpful the last 24 hours. Thanks!
As others have said the pro mix stuff usually doesn't have fertilizer, but the one used in this video does. I use the organic garden mix one for seed starting and for earthbox because it's sterile (no compost or soil), and it's reasonably priced compared to the fox farm products for example (for me the ocean forest or happy frog are $30-40 for 1.5 cubic feet, whereas the pro mix is $20 for 2 cubic feet from tractor supply). It's a nice mix, but like most of the pro mix mixes I've seen, it's majority sphagnum peat, so you have to judge for yourself whether or not you're okay with that from an ethics perspective, and I suppose the value proposition might be slightly less since you'll have to add your own fertilizer
Whistlindiesel in his off time
Yikes! I dropped chilli oil all over my fridge and in a panic I cleaned everything without using gloves. My hands are still on fire despite using dish soap, milk, aloe vera, ice water, oil etc 😭😂😭😂
i want to block this channel
Ya I cute peppers and I had no idea that I needed to wear gloves.
2:00 should you pick off the leaves with sunscald?
Peppers like it warm and full sun. But not Florida warm snd full sun.
isnt it too sour?
All of this is subject to change in Fla zones 9++.
